2. Taj Gibson

Taj Gibson seems to be at peace with whatever decision is made regarding his playing future. The soon-to-be 38-year-old is prepared for his next career as a coach. The USC alumnus is mostly remembered for his days as a member of the Chicago Bulls, but the New York native was a fan favorite virtually everywhere he went. He is a respected leader in the locker room amongst teammates as well. This combined with a newfound extended range has helped prolong Gibson’s career to this point.

Taj Gibson played for New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau throughout all three of his head-coaching tenures — could we see Gibson join Thibodeau on the sidelines as a coach? Being able to return to his hometown of New York City to coach alongside his former head coach would be a fairytale ending to a respectable NBA career.

Gibson has appeared in just 49 games, playing only 9.8 minutes per game. His contract with the Wizards expires at the end of this season. It would shocking to see him get an extension.
