Recent news involving the U.S. men’s national team includes Jesse Marsch being in talks to take over at Leicester City. Leeds United is looking to sign Weston McKennie permanently and more clubs are interested in Brandon Vazquez.

It could be bad news for fans that want Marsch to be appointed head coach of the USMNT. The manager might soon be the new boss at Leicester. However, it is not all bad news for the Stars and Stripes as McKennie may have found a new permanent home at Marsch’s former club Leeds.

There are also more clubs in Europe that have been linked with Brandon Vazquez, including a couple of Premier League sides.

USMNT news: Jesse Marsch in talks with Leicester

The Athletic has reported that “Marsch has held talks with Leicester City over their managerial vacancy as the club plans for all eventualities as they fight for their Premier League survival.

“Rafa Benitez and Sam Allardyce are possibilities for the interim role if they are interested, but Marsch has indicated he might be interested in taking the job even if Leicester go down to the Championship and he would oversee the attempt to return to the top flight.”

Marsch turned down the Southampton job due to the length of the contract offered. If Leicester does offer him job security so that he can continue with the club even if they are relegated then turning down the Saints to hold out for a better job would look like a very good decision.

It would be a tough job to keep the Foxes in the Premier League as they are 19th. However, it is very tight at the bottom of the division, Leicester will be hoping Marsch can do a job for them like he did when keeping Leeds up in his first season at Elland Road.

USMNT news: Leeds wants Weston McKennie permanently

Weston McKennie may have found a new long-term home in Leeds. According to Calciomercato “Unless the club are relegated from the Premier League, Leeds have already decided to buy Weston McKennie outright from Juventus. The English club can exercise a €34 million option to buy the US midfielder.”

It might be seen by many as a step down to join a club which is currently in danger of relegation. However, McKennie has featured in all of Leeds’ last ten games which is playing time that he did not always get at Juventus.

USMNT news: More clubs are interested in Brandon Vazquez

Brandon Vazquez has been linked with a move to Borussia Monchengladbach recently but more clubs have also been linked with the USMNT forward. 90min has revealed that “Crystal Palace, Everton and Bournemouth are among those keeping a close eye on Vazquez. Promotion contenders Sheffield United, Norwich, Middlesbrough and Scotland’s Rangers have scouted the player as well.

The Premier League is the best league in the world so it would be hard for the FC Cincinnati player to turn down a team that will be in the division next season. A move to Rangers in Scotland could be a sensible stepping stone to England. Fellow USMNT player, Malik Tillman is currently starring for the Glasgow side but Vazquez might fancy the challenge of a top-five European league already.
