Odell Beckham Jr.’s upcoming visit with the New York Jets could suggest that an Aaron Rodgers trade with the Green Bay Packers is imminent.

With Odell Beckham Jr. coming to town for a visit, it may indicate that the New York Jets are about to trade for Aaron Rodgers with the Green Bay Packers.

Although Beckham did not play a season ago, he seems to be back to good after tearing his poorly-repaired ACL shortly before halftime of Super Bowl 56 when he was with the Los Angeles Rams. He may not be a No. 1 wide receiver anymore, but Beckham can certainly help a team with serious playoff aspirations like the Jets get over the top. Of course, they need to trade for Rodgers.

CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson reported on Saturday afternoon Beckham is flying to the New York area on Sunday and plans to visit with the Jets’ front office on Monday.

If New York is going to trade for Rodgers, the Jets need to do so before the start of the NFL Draft.

NFL rumors: Odell Beckham Jr. New York Jets visit hints at Aaron Rodgers trade

Look. The Jets have been one of a handful of teams who have had serious interest in adding Beckham throughout the free agency process. Although the Baltimore Ravens have reportedly offered him a contract, he should only go there if Lamar Jackson will be back and playing on his franchise tag. As for the Jets, he should only sign with the if New York is able to trade for Rodgers.

While Jets general manager Joe Douglas feels certain about his team being able to land Rodgers, close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Upon arrival, Gang Green will be seen as a top-seven team in the AFC, and may challenge the Buffalo Bills for divisional supremacy. Beckham is best known for playing in the same stadium as them from when he was on the New York Giants.

We may only be in the second week of April, but the 2023 NFL Draft commences at the end of the month in Kansas City. This is a great opportunity for Beckham to gather intel on what the Jets plan to do in the lead-up to the draft. If Beckham has assurances that Douglas will be able to trade for the four-time MVP, then he may be heading back to New York. Otherwise, thanks for the free trip!

The Rodgers trade may be a few more weeks out, but Beckham’s Jets interest is not a joke, guys.
