The Masters purse 2023: Payout by player, finishing position
The Masters payout has increased again in 2023, so we’re taking a look at the purse and the prize money the winner and every player in the field will make.
It was a big moment last year when The Masters purse was increased to $15 million but it’s gotten another boost for 2023. This year’s tournament will have an $18 million purse for The Masters, meaning that the prize money at Augusta National Golf Club has now increased $6.5 million since just 2021, which is quite impressive.
Everyone was hoping for a week at Augusta National that would deliver a great tournament and a great champion putting on the Green Jacket and, though weather has far from cooperated, that was the way things shaped up going into the final round. Brooks Koepka held the 54-hole lead but was paired with another former US Open champion, Jon Rahm, in the final group. And just three strokes behind Koepka was young Norwegian star Viktor Hovland.
This was a massive moment for all three players trying to win The Masters for the first time, but we’re here to talk about the money. What would The Masters payout be for the winner? How much would every other player to make the cut take home from the increased purse at Augusta National?
Let’s take a look at how the prize money and Masters payout will be distributed.
Masters prize money: Winner’s payout for 2023
The winner at The Masters in 2023, Jon Rahm, will receive a record $3.24 million, up just more than $500,000 from the prize money that Scottie Scheffler received last year for winning at Augusta National. Though the designated events and THE PLAYERS Championship have it beat, this winner’s payout at Augusta is now the highest in major championship history for golf.
