Last year, the Miami Heat were the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference and rolled through the No. 8 seed, the Atlanta Hawks in five games on their way to the Eastern Conference finals. The year before that, Trae Young led the Hawks to the Conference finals against Milwaukee. Now, they’ve both taken one or maybe a few steps backs into the Play-In tournament.

The winner of Game 1 of the Play-In Tournament in Miami is the seventh seed in the East and gets to play Boston in round one.

We’ve seen Playoff Trae and Playoff Jimmy Butler, but which guy will show up big in this one game Play-In.

Hawks vs. Heat best NBA prop bets

  • Trae Young under 24.5 points (+100)
  • Jimmy Butler over 27.5 points (-115)
  • Dejounte Murray over 24.5 pts+asts (-115)

Trae Young under 24.5 points (+100)

I think this Trae Young thing in Atlanta could get pretty ugly. There are already murmurs that Trae could be shipped out this offseason and this game could be the final nail in that coffin. Erik Spoelstra has Trae’s number and last year in those five games, Trae’s highest scoring game was 25 points, but he only scored in the 20s twice and was in single-digits twice. He averaged 15.4 points a game.

Jimmy Butler over 27.5 points (-115)

It was the complete opposite for Jimmy in the playoffs last season. He was the best he’s ever been and that began in the four games he played in the five-game series against Atlanta. He averaged 30.5 points a game in that series and had 45 in Game 2 in Miami. He’ll dominate this game tonight.

Dejounte Murray over 24.5 pts+asts (-115)

That series last season might have been the No. 1 reason that Atlanta traded for Dejounte Murray in the offseason. If Trae is completely shut off, then the Hawks need a secondary scorer and facilitator. The Murray/Young experiment hasn’t worked much this season, but this could be the game that at least half of that backcourt duo comes through.
