Opposing players Denver Broncos fans will always hate: Patrick Mahomes

No doubt about this. All those years of John Elway toying with Kansas City are finally reversing script on the Mile High City in the form of Patrick Mahomes. Ever since No. 15 broke into the league, with the help of Andy Reid and his staff, the Texas Tech Red Raider has been the author of Mile High Misery for the past few years.

It almost seems unfair to put a recent player at the top of the list, but when you think about it and look closer, who else could it be? For years, Denver and the rest of the AFC West used to have moments of success where they hoisted the Lamar Hunt Trophy while KC looked on from afar. Now, Mahomes has the franchise where they consistently battle for their fonder’s trophy name while Denver and the rest of the AFC have to have a fortunate bounce to achieve such heights.

His playstyle can be considered crazy, with too much of a gunslinger mentality. When it works, as it has against Denver multiple times, it is what it is. When it doesn’t, such as Super Bowl LV, it’s a different matter. Until Denver comes up with a scheme like Tampa Bay did without having to rely on offensive line woes by KC, they will continue to be at the mercy of Patrick Mahomes.
