10 best Michigan alumni in NFL history
1. Tom Brady
It’s a case of not what he’s done but what he hasn’t done. Then again, the key word here is “done” as this offseason, 23-year pro Tom Brady retired from the National Football League after an incredible run with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Along with Pro Football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, they are the only two quarterbacks to start and win Super Bowl titles with two different franchises. In the case of Brady, he earned Super Bowl MVP honors four times with the Patriots (XXXVI, XXXVIII, XLIX and LI) and once with the Buccaneers (LV).
No player has thrown for more yards (89,214) and more touchdowns (649) in the regular season than the 199th pick in the 2000 NFL Draft. Of course, Brady also owns NFL postseason records for passing yardage (13,400) and aerial scores (88). There are a slew of other milestones such as attempts, completions, etc.
Because Brady retired and then unretired last offseason, for some seeing (or not seeing him on an NFL team) is believing and the speculation figures to go on. What can’t be debated is that the final chapter of this sixth-round draft pick from the University of Michigan will conclude in Canton, Ohio.
