3 strangest players we ever saw in a Denver Broncos uniform

Strangest Broncos of all time: 2. Tony Dorsett
The early years of Denver Broncos football saw a lot of desperation. None was more evident than the trade for Tony Dorsett. In June of 1988, the Broncos sent a fifth-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys for the future Hall of Famer. It seemed like a simple enough transaction.
The Broncos wanted to improve their running game, and they gave a small price for one of the best runners ever. Dan Reeves had a lot of experience working together with Dorsett in Dallas. We always see coaches get former stars with their new teams. Reeves and Dorsett were the right partnership at the time.
Well, it went… fine. Dorsett led the team with 703 yards, but injuries limited him (despite playing 16 games). He tried to make another season work, but he blew out his knee in training camp. In the late 80s, that was the end of it.
Dorsett’s time with Denver is all but forgotten. He is still considered a Cowboy and Cowboy only. Maybe if he didn’t hurt his knee, things would be seen differently. However, since his career ended with a whimper, the end would be largely forgotten. Dorsett is a superstar running back who is one of the best ever, but none of that happened in Denver.
