San Diego Padres star Fernando Tatis Jr. literally didn’t have a care in the world while Chicago Cubs fans chanted “he’s on steroids” at him.

Last year, Fernando Tatis Jr. was given an 80-game suspension for violating MLB’s performance-enhancing drug policy. This happened just as he was recovering and nearing a return from wrist surgery. The first game he was eligible to return was on April 20, and the Padres made the move official ahead of their game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. He received a mixed reaction from those in Arizona, and now, he is in Chicago as the Padres face the Cubs.

On Tuesday night, Tatis was playing in right field at Wrigley Field, and he was hearing it from Cubs fans. Some fans were chanting “he’s on steroids” at Tatis. If you thought that would irritate Tatis, that was not the case, as he literally danced to the chants.

That is some big “not giving a damn” energy.

The Cubs fans got the last laugh over Tatis and the Padres, as the NL Central team got the 6-0 win. Tatis went 1-for-4 at the plate, where he struck out twice, was walked once and left three runners on base.

As mentioned, Tatis was nearing a return from a wrist injury, but he tested positive for clostebol. Tatis claimed that he took some medication, that he didn’t know contained clostebol, to treat ringworm. After the announcement of his suspension, the Padres revealed that he would be undergoing surgery to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder.

Tatis is slashing .182/.250/.318 while recording one home run, one RBI, two runs scored and four RBI through five games.

Early on in his return from his suspension, Tatis has heard the jeers from opposing fanbases. As we saw in Chicago, he’s not letting it get to him.
