The 2023 Mexico Open tee times, purse, odds and everything golf fans need to watch the PGA Tour this week at Vidanta Vallarta.

It’s back to stroke play on the PGA Tour as we head to Vidanta Vallarta for the second time ever to play the 2023 Mexico Open. Jon Rahm returns to the international venue to defend his title after winning as a heavy favorite here a year ago.

As this isn’t a designated event this week, the field beyond Rahm is admittedly not great. However, this new format of the schedule for the PGA Tour really helps to highlight players who might not be stars or even household names and see if they can contend with the Rahm and Tony Finau type of players who show up to the non-elevated events like the 2023 Mexico Open.

So even if the star power isn’t high, this is going to be a fun tournament for golf fans to enjoy. Let’s take a look at the 2023 Mexico Open tee times, the field list, the purse and prize money, and all of the TV coverage and live stream information for how to watch this week on the PGA Tour.

Mexico Open tee times, field 2023

The field this week at the 2023 Mexico Open is headlined by Masters champion and defending champion at Vidanta, Jon Rahm. He is the heavy favorite but is joined by Tony Finau as the other proverbial big name in the field. Meanwhile, notable others like Gary Woodland, Wyndham Clark and Nicolai Hojgaard, among others, will be teeing it up at Vidanta.

Here’s a look at the full field list submitted by the deadline on Friday, April 21.

Since the release of the field, Zurich Classic champions Nick Hardy and Davis Riley withdrew, as has Ryan Brehm. They have been replaced in the field by Richard S. Johnson, Ted Potter Jr., and Tommy Gainey.

Mexico Open purse for 2023

The Mexico Open purse for the 2023 tournament is set at $7.7 million with the winner taking home $1.3 million in prize money. This is down from the purse at last week’s Zurich Classic and obviously down from the previous week’s RBC Heritage as that was a designated event on the PGA Tour and this, as you can tell by the field, is decisively not.
