Lamar Jackson took to Twitter late Tuesday night and has us wondering what kind of NFL news we’ll see on Wednesday.

It’s NFL Draft week, which means the NFL rumors and news cycle is going to start spinning again, much fast than it has in the past several weeks. Already, we’ve seen Aaron Rodgers (finally) get traded to the New York Jets and the Minnesota Vikings (smartly and expectedly) extend Justin Jefferson.

We saw both of those things coming from a mile away. But the latest news that might be coming could be a little more surprising.

Here’s what Lamar Jackson Tweeted out Tuesday night:

It’s a blushing/smiling emoji with a gif of Spongebob showing a face of surprise, and then a big smile.

Does Lamar Jackson Tweet hint at big news coming soon?

This Tweet could mean any number of things. First of all, it could legitimately mean nothing. Professional athletes are well aware that fans and frankly, media members like myself are going to see this and try to dissect it. It’s fun for professional athletes, you can’t knock them.

But it could be something. Really, I see it going one of three ways if it is related to any news we could see today or this week.

First, and the biggest possible outcome, is that the Baltimore Ravens are closing in on a trade for DeAndre Hopkins. We already know that Jackson wants him to add to the receiving corps. His wish list was two names long: Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins. No. 1 is checked off, now maybe they get No. 2?

The second possibility is that Jackson’s long-awaited contract dispute with the Ravens is coming up on some conclusion. The Ravens franchise tagged Jackson, who hasn’t signed the tag because he wants a massive, guaranteed deal. The Jalen Hurts extension from days ago gave him a little more ammunition at the negotiation table, I’m sure.

The third (and I would suggest largely distant) possibility is the Ravens have traded Jackson to another team, or are closing in on such a deal. The Ravens have remained verbally committed to Jackson and there has been little buzz of interest among other teams in trading for him, so this would surprise me.

Or, again, maybe it means nothing. Perhaps that mobile gym he was promoting/invested in sold to LuluLemon or something like that.

We’ll keep you updated with any further news.
