NFL rumors: 5 players who should be traded during the 2023 NFL Draft
The 2023 NFL Draft is going to be chaos and, after seeing two big-name players traded last year, which five players are trade candidates this year?
Especially in the case of the 2023 NFL Draft, things are going to get chaotic on draft day. We’re pretty sure that the Carolina Panthers are going with Bryce Young at No. 1 overall — but after that, it’s best encapsulated by the shrug emoji with just about everyone guessing what will happen.
There has been a lot of talk about teams trading up or down in the 2023 NFL Draft, which is surely going to happen. However, what about the players who could also be traded in moves that affect the draft?
Just last year, we saw A.J. Brown get traded to the Eagles and Marquise Brown traded to the Arizona Cardinals, two players at the end of rookie deals and looking for new contracts. With several big-name players looking for new deals this offseason, there could be more trades in that ilk during the 2023 NFL Draft.
With that in mind, these five players should be traded at some point in the 2023 NFL Draft and there is buzz that they very well could be, so let’s also look at possible landing spots for each of these players if they are, in fact, traded.

NFL Rumors: Chase Young should be traded during the 2023 NFL Draft
Figuring out what the Washington Commanders are doing this offseason is like playing the most difficult game of Clue imaginable. It was definitely Dan Snyder in some room as he sells the team, though.
One thing we do know for certain, however, is that Washington is not picking up the fifth-year option of former second-overall pick Chase Young as that news came out on Wednesday about the pass-rusher.
As a result, ESPN insider Dan Graziano reported on Wednesday that the Commanders could be looking to trade either Young or Montez Sweat. Given that the team is now in more danger of losing Young for nothing after not picking up the option, though, he seems to me to be the more likely trade candidate — and a roster with numerous needs would benefit from that trade happening during the draft.
Entering year four, Young has played just 12 gams over the past two seasons due to injury. As a rookie, though, he captured Defensive Rookie of the Year honors with a standout season that featured 7.5 sacks and 10 tackles for loss. There’s a reason he was taken No. 2 overall — the talent is there.
Teams looking to take a roll of the dice on a pass-rusher given his recent injury history would be wise to give Washington a call and perhaps give up a Day 2 pick in order to get a Young trade to go through so the Commanders can recoup some value instead of losing him for nothing.
Possible Landing Spots: Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens
