Day 1 of the 2023 NFL Draft may have stolen all the pent-up anticipation and excitement, but Day 3 has something even better in store: a cute puppy.

Sports networks are trying drastic measures to keep fans entertained in the later rounds of the NFL Draft, and one of those measures may include introducing a new No. 1 pick, America’s favorite and most lovable four-legged player, Patrick the Puppy.

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah brought Patrick in for a top-30 visit on Saturday afternoon and concluded that Patrick may have some “character concerns.” The adorable pup, listed as a wide receiver out of Fetch University, no doubt has great physical measurables and is “extremely loyal,” yet he made a small scene during the draft when he accidentally soiled Jeremiah’s clothes. Oops.

Those “character concerns” may not be Patrick’s fault, as the puppy was probably nervous to be on live television not to mention cradled by a strange new human.

Jeremiah joked that the pup was going to “slip down the board” because of his leaky bladder, but we doubt anybody is on Jeremiah’s side on this one. Patrick is a generational talent in the cuteness category, has immense upside to brighten his future owner’s life, and has traded blue chips for nano chips. Never blame the pup.

Here’s what Twitter thought of Patrick’s wee little accident on the renowned NFL analyst:

Regardless of what the pundits and analysts say, Air Bud’s got a great future ahead of him. The consensus is in: that is one heck of a cute pup.
