NFL Rumors: Andy Reid gets real about “beef sweats”

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid took time out of his day to speak to the NFL Network crew manning the draft, and of course, one of the topics that came up was about food.

Apparently, NFL analyst Daniel Jeremiah tapped out during a recent trip to a Kansas City barbecue restaurant. He couldn’t handle all the meat, and Reid, sympathetic to the situation, noted that “those beef sweats are a son of a gun.”

No huge revelations about the Chiefs’ 2023 roster or tactics here, just Reid lamenting about those darn beef sweats.

Known around the league for his love of food (and he’s even named a few plays after certain food items), Reid’s musings about everything from BBQ to burgers to beef feel like a part of his personality now. He’s a legendary play-caller and a legendary eater. Chiefs Kingdom will obviously remember him as the former, and it’ll be interesting to see how Reid will maximize his offense’s efficiency this season.

After losing Mecole Hardman and JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Chiefs traded up in the second round to take SMU receiver Rashee Rice; while Rice could be viewed as a semi-developmental player, he adds crucial depth to the receiver room and could make an immediate impact in 2023.

Leave it to Andy Reid to know his offense as well as he knows his beef.
