It certainly wasn’t the way that many fans thought the 2023 NFL Draft would play out for the Cowboys but, as a whole, the team clearly identified needs and found ways to plug holes with players who can play well. That doesn’t mean that every pick was a winner but, overall, they did a nice job of sticking to their practices of relatively unexciting drafts that simply make the roster better.

Cowboys Draft Grades for the Entire 2023 Class: B+

Again, the lack of overall flash and, frankly, star power from the Cowboys draft class is going to keep me from bumping them up to an A. But anyone who is giving this class less than a B just isn’t paying attention to Dallas and how this organization has typically operated.

For all of the faults — and there are plenty — of Jerry Jones, Stephen Jones and this front office, they and Will McClay have done a phenomenal job overall in the draft, especially early. Moreover, they are the captains of not worrying about making the splash pick, in recent years for certain, and just getting good prospects who can help the team. That’s what we see throughout this draft class and, overall, that’s a win for a potential contender in the NFC.
