2-year-old daughter of Bucs star Shaq Barrett drowns in tragic accident

The daughter of Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett drowned in the family’s swimming pool in a tragic accident.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett’s two-year-old daughter, Arrayah, drowned in a swimming pool at the family’s home in Tampa on Sunday morning.
Per a statement from the Tampa Police Department, officers arrived at Barrett’s home after receiving a call that a child had fallen into a pool. The child was rushed to a local hospital, and despite medical efforts to save her life, she was pronounced deceased shortly later.
The police are still investigating the death, which is so far believed to be a “purely accidental” incident.
Arrayah Barrett was the youngest of four children in the Barrett family, and her death has sent shockwaves across the NFL community.
The Buccaneers franchise released a statement providing love and support to Shaquil Barrett and his family during this difficult time, and many other members and organizations across the league offered their condolences as well.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Shaq, Jordanna and the entire Barrett family during this unimaginably difficult time. Shaquil Barrett posted his daughter on his Instagram just a few weeks ago on April 19, which was Arrayah’s second birthday.
