2023 NFL Power Rankings after NFL Draft: What the league looks like right now
NFL Power Rankings 2023, Post-NFL Draft: No. 6-4
For the second straight year, the team saw its season end with a playoff loss to the 49ers. It has been an offseason of more subtractions (running back Ezekiel Elliott and tight end Dalton Schultz) than additions for the Cowboys. The team did swing deals for wide receivers Brandin Cooks (Texans) and cornerback Stephon Gilmore (Colts). First-round pick Mazi Smith should help the NFL’s 22nd-ranked run defense.
This past season, the Dolphins were back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016 but still haven’t won a postseason game since 2000. The club wound up forfeiting its first-round selection and finished the three-day process with an NFL-low four picks. Of course, Chris Grier did orchestrate a trade for star cornerback Jalen Ramsey (Rams). The biggest question is whether Tua Tagovailoa can stay on the field.
Sean McDermott’s team has won the AFC East each of the past three seasons and reached the conference title game in 2020. However, the Bills have not gotten past the divisional playoffs the past two years and were embarrassed by the visiting Bengals in January. Quarterback Josh Allen remains turnover-prone while losing pass-rusher Von Miller during the season was a big blow. This remains a very talented team.
