2. Kris Bryant is dealing with a lower-body injury

Kris Bryant has been playing through a lower-body injury recently, which seems to be a recurring issue since joining the Colorado Rockies.

Granted, he is currently slashing .297/.360/.426  with an OPS of .786. It is all about average recently. He’s played in 26 games, hit four doubles, three home runs, and eight RBI. He’s had nine walks and 20 strikeouts.

Let’s be clear, the stats say that Bryant is playing well enough when on the field. But the oldest adage in sports is that the best ability is availability, and Bryant has dealt with a number of injuries as he currently is. Colorado wants to see those numbers for 162-ish games, not 80.

This is the second year of a seven-year contract worth $182 million. Denver and Chicago are different environments. Hopefully, with an entire season, he can better adjust to the climate and get back to hitting with power that seems more possible in Denver.
