LeBron James looked uncharacteristically quiet and limited in the Lakers’ Game 1 win. Will he be healthy enough to go in Game 2 against the Warriors?

The Lakers were able to steal Game 1 from the Warriors, 117-112, but they did it with a rather muted effort from LeBron James. He played 40 minutes but shot just 9-of-24 from the floor and 1-of-8 from beyond the arc, finishing with 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists.

LeBron can have an outsized impact even if it doesn’t show up in the box score, but he hasn’t been his normal dominant self. Across the first seven games of these playoffs, his scoring and assists per game are the lowest of any postseason of his career. His effective field goal percentage is just 50.0, the lowest since the 2014-15 postseason.

The Lakers have been able to advance but the level of difficulty is only going to ramp up and they may need more from him as this series goes along. If the right foot injury that held him out of 13 games in March is still bothering him, it could be a big problem for L.A.

Will LeBron James be available for Game 2 against the Warriors?

LeBron James is listed as probable for Game 2 in the official NBA injury report, which has been pretty much constant since he returned in March. Anthony Davis is also listed as probable with his own foot injury and center Mo Bamba is listed as questionable.

Neither Darvin Ham or LeBron have said anything significant about his foot injury in the past few days so it’s either not a problem, or they don’t want to acknowledge it. But if this continues to be the least-productive postseason of his career, Lakers fans might start to get worried.
