How could the Jets not want a player who would put the team on his back with a broken frickin’ leg, even if Gumby is probably not a fan?

Greg Jennings, like Jones, hasn’t played in the NFL since the end of the 2015 season and hasn’t played with Rodgers since 2012 after spending the final three years of his career with the Vikings and Dolphins. But a decade is far too much time for this duo to be separated and the Jets just have to look at the 39-year-old as a potential option.

Whenever Aaron Rodgers took over as the Packers starter in 2008, Jennings was his best friend on the field. From 2008-11, Jennings averaged 81 receptions for 1,287 yards and nine touchdowns per 17 games with the quarterback. He was an absolute monster all over the field who was clearly the No. 1 option in the Green Bay offense.

Jennings ranks right behind Jones in terms of the most touchdown receptions from Rodgers in the quarterback’s career, catching 42 from the new Jets signal-caller in his career, 38 in the regular season and four in the playoffs.

There are plenty of fond memories for Jennings, Jones, Rodgers and maybe even Cobb to all catch up on together. Even if being almost 40 years old has made Jennings a lesser football player, the vibes are just off until the Packers Hall of Fame inductee from last year teams back up with his longtime quarterback in New York.
