The Pittsburgh Pirates won the draft lottery and therefore have the first-overall selection.
Can MLB teams trade draft picks?
Unlike other sports’ drafts, MLB draft picks can’t be traded. The exception is with Competitive Balance Round picks.
When is the deadline for MLB draft picks to sign?
Draft picks will have until August 1 to sign with their teams.
