Braves Rumors: Latest on Kyle Wright’s injury timeline

While Max Fried’s injury rehab timeline is likely to be far quicker than Kyle Wright’s, with the Braves ace expected back by the MLB All-Star Break, the latter has seen some progress of late.

When Fried and Wright are back in the fold, Atlanta should have one of the best starting rotations in baseball — just imagine if they add to it at the deadline.

“Feeling stronger every day, which is good,” Wright said, via Grant McAuley of the Gwinnett Daily Post. “I feel like the rehab program and plan has been great. The main thing is just literally giving it time to heal and recover.”

Wright entered the season battling a should injury, which flared up after just five starts. He was completely shut down as a result, and it was unclear initially how long he would be out for. August, at the very least, seems like an ideal timeline for his return, if not later.

“I think the main thing was just letting it heal, because I was talking to all the doctors (and they believe) that it would heal on its own,” Wright said. “We just need to let it recover, give it some time to calm down, strengthen it while it’s calming down, and then go from there.”

Wright should be able to return at some point this season as the injury isn’t expected to require surgery. However, his impact remains to be seen, as the Braves would be wise to take matters slow.
