Why do the Boston Red Sox Wear yellow and blue jerseys?

Why do the Boston Red Sox wear yellow and blue jerseys that are far different from their normal color scheme?
What’s the reasoning being the Boston Red Sox yellow and blue Jerseys? The vibrant jerseys drastically differ from the iconic red and navy, synonymous with the club’s moniker.
The jerseys are worn while the iconic Boston Marathon is held on the third Monday of April, Patriot’s Day. The holiday is a recognized holiday in Massachusetts. Major League Baseball recognizes this by giving the Red Sox an 11:05 A.M game every year.
The colors were inspired by the marathon’s yellow and blue color theme. But it’s not the lone connection between the Sox jersey, the Boston Marathon, or the city itself.
From the Red Sox pregame notes:
"“Unveiled in April 2021, the uniform adopts the blue and yellow colors that honor the spirit of Patriots’ Day weekend, and features ‘Boston’ in a stencil font across the chest paying tribute to the Boylston Street finish line. The numbers ‘617′ are highlighted on the left sleeve as a nod to the area code for Boston and Fenway Park. The numbers appear within a racing bib, honoring one of the city’s most iconic annual sports traditions.”"
Except that Sunday afternoon wasn’t the third Monday Of April. It was the third Sunday of June. Yet the Red Sox, playing host to the rival New York Yankees, wore them anyway.
Boston Red Sox fans point out team thrives when wearing City Connect Jerseys:

The trend continued on Sunday. Sporting the Yellow and Blue, the BoSox defeated the Bombers 6-2, pushing their record while wearing the uniforms to 18-4. They would complete the weekend series sweep in their white jerseys with a 4-1 victory in the nightcap of the doubleheader.
Boston took the series opener 15-5 on Friday night. Saturday’s game was rained out, forcing the clubs to play the twin bill on Sunday.
