PHF free agency tracker: Every signing for the 2023-24 season
By Tina Nguyen
The PHF is rolling through a massive offseason heading towards the 2023-24 season. Stay up to date with every signing we’ve seen so far.
On April 12, the PHF announced the opening of free agency for the 2023-24 season. After a 30-day restricted timeline, all rostered players from the previous season are eligible to sign with any team. Amateur athletes over the age of 18, including NCAA and U SPORTS graduates, as well as athletes from other professional leagues, also qualify for unrestricted free agency.
The salary cap for the upcoming season has doubled to $1.5 million per team. Teams will have a minimum of 22 players, with at least 20 signed to standard contracts earning a minimum salary of $30,000 each. The league continues to emphasize transparency and player autonomy with its salary disclosure policy, allowing players to choose whether or not to disclose their salary.
The PHF aims to provide greater financial opportunities and resources for players in professional women’s hockey. The league prioritizes freedom of choice for all athletes, both returnees and newcomers and looks forward to strengthening its player pool by attracting top collegiate and professional talents from around the world.
Here are all the signings so far. Stay tuned for updates
