Victor Wembanyama Rookie of the Year odds following 2023 NBA Draft
By Reed Wallach
The 2023 NBA Draft has come and gone and we now can start to look at the 2023 Rookie of the Year odds.
All eyes are on the generational prospect Victor Wembanyama, who went No. 1 overall to the San Antonio Spurs. The French sensation is the odds on favorite to win Rookie of the Year in what is a loaded draft class.
The other players to note are No. 3 pick Scoot Henderson, who was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers after speculation he would go No. 2 to the Charlotte Hornets instead of wing Brandon Miller. Henderson is seen as the second best prospect in this class after shining for the G-League Ignite team this past season. It’s worth noting that at the moment he is behind Damian Lillard as the lead ball handler, but with the All-Star guards potential trade request, Henderson may see increased reps at point guard.
The wild card to note is Thunder big man Chet Holmgren, the No. 2 pick in last years draft, who missed all of last year with a foot injury. This will technically be Holmgren’s rookie season, and he is the third choice in the betting market to win ROY.
However, all will be chasing Wembanyama, the 7’5″ No. 1 pick who can seemingly do it all on the floor. The expectations are already sky high for the newest Spurs star.
Take a look at the full slate of Rookie of the Year odds as everyone tries to take down the overwhelming favorite Wembanyama next season:
