The Reds and Orioles went into a lengthy rain delay for the second straight day, and fans are wondering when the June 27 game will restart.

One night after the Cincinnati Reds and Baltimore Orioles had the start of their game delayed 15 minutes by rain and then paused for one hour and 44 minutes mid-game, it happened again. The Reds and Orioles entered a rain delay before the top of the eighth inning during their June 27 game on Tuesday.

At the time that the rain became a factor, the Reds, who fell 10-3 after play resumed on Monday night, were up 2-1 on the home team on the back of a Matt McLain RBI double and a later solo home run. That was after the O’s took an early 1-0 lead on a Ryan McKenna sacrifice fly to drive in Aaron Hicks.

But in a tight game between two of the most exciting young teams in baseball, fans don’t want to watch the rain — they want to watch the game. So that had fans asking when the Reds-Orioles delay would end and when the game would restart.

Baltimore weather radar: Update on Reds-Orioles delay, restart time

Update: Baltimore announced that the game will resume at 10:50 p.m. ET if all goes to plan.

Original Post: Looking at the Baltimore weather radar during the delay, it appears that the game could restart around 10:45 p.m. ET, though that is an estimate based on when the rain is supposed to clear out of the area of the city for a while, which is about 10:30 p.m. ET, so we’re giving the grounds crew 15 minutes to get things ready — though it could be longer.

From the time when the rain delay was brought into an effect, there hasn’t been an update from the Orioles or the Reds about a potential start time. Thus, looking at the radar and providing an educated guess from the forecast is the best we can do right now.

Unfortunately, this might not be the last rain delay of the series, either. With things already soggy at Camden Yards, there is rain in the forecast all day on Wednesday for the game scheduled for 7:05 p.m. ET.
