After a surprising run to the NBA Finals, which free agents do the Miami Heat need to target to reload for next season?

The Miami Heat are going into next season after only being three wins away from winning a title. They were the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference but were able to somehow make the Finals by beating the Bucks, Celtics, and Knicks. Jimmy Butler was phenomenal in their playoff run despite the fact that he injured an injury halfway through the run.

But the Heat will need to keep a deep supporting cast around him if they have any hope of repeating and finishing the job this season.

Most important targets for the Heat: 3. Kevin Love

Love signed with the team after being bought-out by the Cavs mid-season. The offense of the Heat’s bench was a lot better after adding him to the lineup. Most likely, Love will not be crazy expensive due to the fact that he is an aging player in this league who had already won a championship.

Love is also a player who wants to continue to contribute and he has a chance to do that on the Heat, even if it’s in a role as a bench player or spot-starter. The Heat don’t have an entrenched power forward and favor versatility and shooting in most matchups which means he could stay in the rotation even if his minutes vary from night to night.

This is also a team that might look for him to take on a bigger leadership role due to Udonis Haslem retiring this offseason. This is why Love might end up staying in Miami, even if he gets a bigger offer elsewhere.
