USMNT rumors: Vazquez to Monchengladbach, Balogun to Milan, Dest to stay

Today’s USMNT rumors include Brandon Vazquez being linked with Borussia Monchengladbach again. AC Milan is targeting Folarin Balogun and Sergino Dest could stay with Barcelona.  

USMNT rumors: Brandon Vazquez to Borussia Monchengladbach

FC Cincinnati reportedly rejected Brandon Vazquez a move to Borussia Monchengladbach recently. However, there is a chance that the transfer could still happen.

Florian Plettenberg has tweeted “M‘Gladbach is still considering a transfer of Brandon Vazquez! Talks ongoing but difficult. Been told that his price tag is around €8-10m.”

The forward is 24 and is yet to experience European soccer. Vazquez will need to play at the highest level if he is to challenge Folarin Balogun and Ricardo Pepi for a starting place in the national team lineup.

Vazquez is currently starring for the USMNT at the Gold Cup where he has scored three goals in four games. He will be looking to add to his tally when B.J. Callaghan’s side face Panama in the semi-finals tomorrow.

USMNT rumors: Folarin Balogun to AC Milan

Christian Pulisic is set to join AC Milan from Chelsea with his medical this week. The USMNT captain could be joined at the club by the Stars and Stripes’ number nine, Folarin Balogun.

According to Gianluca Di Marzo, Milan wants Balogun to compete with Olivier Giroud in leading the club’s line.

The Rossoneri will face competition for Balogun with Chelsea, Inter Milan and RB Leipzig also interested in the player. The forward is back in pre-season training with Arsenal and will want to have his future sorted before the Gunners go on their tour of America.

USMNT rumors: Sergino Dest to stay at Barca

Sergino Dest has recently been linked with Fulham, Crystal Palace and Manchester United. However, there is a possibility that the defender could stay with Barcelona, who he is back in pre-season training with.

Sport has revealed that “no offers have arrived and the full-back will have chances during pre-season to prove that he can earn a place in the squad.”

It will be tough for Dest to win his place back in Xavi’s squad, especially after a difficult last season where he played just eight times in Serie A for Milan.
