Warriors radio host has the worst possible Chris Paul-Stephen Curry take

The Golden State Warrior’s recent acquisition of Chris Paul have left some wondering who will start at point guard next season. 

If you’re having point guard problems, I feel bad for you son. I got 99 problems, and Cade Cunningham is the reason for… literally all of them (12 games man, really?).

The Golden State Warriors have point guard problems. They have two Hall of Fame-caliber point guards in Stephen Curry and Chris Paul. Admittedly, not the worst problem to have. Though, the question is: How do you pair these two players together, if at all?

In a conversation surrounding the Warriors’ projected starting lineup, 95.7 The Game’s, Matt Steinmetz, shared a crazy idea. Steinmetz said, “I’m sorry Bay Area, but you know what crossed my mind listening to Chris Paul… What if the best thing for the team is for Stephen Curry to come off the bench?”

Yeah. You read that right. Bring Curry, your four-time NBA champion, All-Star, and beloved franchise point guard, in off the bench. Let’s dive into why that take is bananas.

Chris Paul needs to come off the bench for the Warriors.

Stephen Curry has played 882 games in his career. Out of those 882 games, he’s started 876. He’s one of the pillars of this Golden State Warriors dynasty. With that said, it’s difficult to envision Chris Paul starting and Steph coming off the bench. However, Kerr starting Steph at shooting guard and letting Chris Paul run the point sounds more realistic.

Although Chris Paul has been a starter his entire career, the Warriors second unit could really use his impact. Last season, the Warriors’ bench turned the ball over at one of the highest rates in the league with a TOV% of 8.2. It would be in the Warriors’ best interest to play CP3 with their second unit, taking advantage of his passing and scoring ability.
