Long-awaited Saints shoe drop is finally coming courtesy of Alvin Kamara

The New Orleans Saints can finally move past Alvin Kamara’s legal troubles, as the running back has pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges.
Alvin Kamara and three other men initially faced felony charges, which were since downgraded to misdemeanors for breach of peace due to his involvement in a 2022 fight in Las Vegas. It’s unclear what punishment, if any, Kamara will face from the NFL.
“Alvin is pleased that this matter is behind him and looks forward to a successful NFL season,” Kamara’s attorney David Chesnoff said in a statement. His punishment is 30 hours of community service and to pay the alleged victim in the fight $105,000 for medical bills.
Per attorney Tony Buzbee, who represented the two men who filed charges against Kamara relating to the violent incident, made it clear that the resolution included an apology from the Saints running back.
“Please accept my sincere apologies for the events of February, 5, 2022 in Las Vegas,” the apology stated. “I am happy that we were able to get on the other side of this unfortunate incident, and I wish you the best for the future.”
Saints: Will Alvin Kamara face NFL discipline?
The NFL has been monitoring the case closely, and lists assault and battery as a form of prohibited conduct in its official personal conduct policy.
“We have been closely monitoring all developments in the matter which remains under review,” the league said on Tuesday. “It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. We are all held to a higher standard and must conduct ourselves in a way that is responsible, promotes the values of the NFL, and is lawful. Players convicted of a crime or subject to a disposition of a criminal proceeding … are subject to discipline.”
Despite the statement, it’s unclear as of now whether the league will punish Kamara.
