USMNT news: Balogun to Inter, Trusty to Ipswich, Aaronson scores four
Today’s USMNT news includes reports that Folarin Balogun is being linked with Inter Milan. Auston Trusty could be on his way to Ipswich Town and Paxten Aaronson is scoring for fun at Eintracht Frankfurt this summer.
USMNT news: Folarin Balogun to Inter Milan
Inter Milan will not be signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea this summer. This could pave the way for Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun to join the Italian side. Balogun has also been linked with AC Milan who have just signed Christian Pulisic. However, we could now see the two Americans facing each other in the Milan derby next season.
According to Fabrizio Romano, “Inter will ask for final conditions of Folarin Balogun deal early next week. Balogun is open to permanent move but Arsenal are expected to request important fee. Balogun, part of Inter list after Lukaku deal off.”
Balogun has already played for Arsenal this pre-season and the squad are due to fly to America today. It remains to be seen if the USMNT forward will be traveling for fixtures against the MLS All-Stars, Manchester United and Barcelona.
USMNT news: Auston Trusty to Ipswich Town
Auston Trusty is another American Arsenal player who could be on the move. The defender spent last season on loan at Birmingham City and the Championship team along with Scottish side Rangers have been linked with him.
Another team from English soccer’s second tier now also wants to sign Trusty. The East Anglian Daily Times has revealed that “Trusty is one of a number of centre-backs interesting Ipswich Town this summer.”
Ipswich were promoted to the Championship from League One last season, so they are an unknown quantity in the division. Birmingham finished 17th in the last campaign and Trusty was voted their Player of the Season. The USMNT defender knows he will be able to slot back in nicely with the Blues.
USMNT news: Paxten Aaronson scores four
Paxten Aaronson scored four goals as Eintracht Frankfurt beat FSV Braunfels 15-1 yesterday. Braunfels do play in the sixth tier of German soccer, so it is understandable that they could not compete with the Bundesliga side.
The USMNT player had a good run in Frankfurt’s side at the end of last season and a lot will be expected of him in the next campaign. He will also now be competing against his brother Brenden who has joined Union Berlin on loan from Leeds United.
