Lions defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson gets positive update
Gardner-Johnson served as the Eagles’ top ballhawk in the 2022 season and brought his energy and chutzpah to Detroit, signing a one-year deal earlier this summer.
The young defensive star boasts the ability to play at different positions in the backfield, and while his trash-talking may be seen as a detriment to some, his production can’t be ignored. Dropped from the Eagles this offseason, he joins a new pack with in the Motor City 2023 on his road to redemption. Playing well this year will boost his chances of securing a long-term lucrative deal, whether that’s still with the Lions or with another team.
Detroit football fans can breathe a huge sigh of relief after this news. With star wideout Jameson Williams suffering an injury setback in camp, Detroit needs all the good luck and fortune it can get.
