USMNT news: Adams to Villa, Trusty joins Sheffield, McKennie to stay
Today’s USMNT news includes Tyler Adams being linked with Aston Villa. Auston Trusty has officially been announced as a Sheffield United player and Weston McKennie could be set to stay at Juventus.
USMNT news: Tyler Adams to Aston Villa
Tyler Adams has recently been linked with Chelsea but a move to another Premier League club where he will have a much better chance of regular game time could be on the cards.
The Daily Mail has reported that “Aston Villa are waiting on an answer from Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams over his next move as Chelsea wait in the wings. The USA international has a relegation release clause of around £25million that Villa are prepared to activate.”
Many top-flight English clubs are also reportedly interested in Adams which include Nottingham Forest, Brighton and West Ham. However, Villa could be his best bet as they are a team on the up under Unai Emery.
USMNT news: Auston Trusty joins Sheffield United
Auston Trusty has officially left Arsenal and joined Sheffield United who are back in the Premier League this season. The defender is yet to play in English soccer’s top flight. However, his performances on loan at Birmingham City in the last campaign definitely warranted a chance at playing at a higher level.
Speaking to Sheffield United’s official website, Trusty said “I am more than excited. The opportunity to be here at this historic club, and an opportunity to play in the Premier League and show my ability, it is everything I could have ever dreamed of growing up as a kid.”
USMNT news: Weston McKennie to stay at Juventus
Weston McKennie produced a fine performance for Juventus in a 3-1 win over Real Madrid last night. The midfielder even got an assist for fellow USMNT player Timothy Weah. Goal has revealed that Massimiliano Allegri said after the game “McKennie had a good game today and I’m very happy.”
The American was thought to be on his way out of Turin after he had an unsuccessful spell on loan at Leeds United last season. However, if McKennie keeps putting in performances as he did against Los Blancos then Allegri will have to keep on playing him.
