As both prepare for the FIBA World Cup, fans ensured that Dillon Brooks heard it loud and clear during Team Canada’s exhibition against Germany.

During Wednesday’s FIBA exhibition friendly, Team Canada faced off against Team Germany at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin. This was a tune-up for both teams as they prepare for the FIBA World Cup. Despite outscoring Germany 47-36 in the second half, Team Canada could not complete the comeback and came up short, losing the game to Germany 86-81.

The Orlando Magic’s Franz Wagner led Team Germany with 18 points, two rebounds, and four steals. Seven of those 18 points came in the fourth quarter, including a 3 that gave Germany the lead with under a minute to go. Dennis Schroder was also productive, posting a near triple-double of 16 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists in Germany’s win over Canada.

The top scorer for Team Canada was Lu Dort with 14 points, followed closely by RJ Barrett with 12 points. Apart from the loss, there’s more bad news for Team Canada. As soon as Dillon Brooks touched the ball, something interesting happened.

Rockets: Dillon Brooks booed in FIBA World Cup Exhibition

In addition to getting booed every time the ball was in his hands, Brooks did not have an outstanding game. He finished with three points, going silent after sinking Canada’s first triple. Dennis Schroder also pulled the rug out from under him.

Dillon Brooks is no stranger to playing the villain. Brooks stepped into this role last season during the Lakers-Grizzlies series after comments about LeBron’s age backfired. Luckily, the former Grizzlies member is headed to the Houston Rockets where he will start anew next season.
