30 non-QBs who should be in MVP consideration for the 2024 season

Only 18 non-quarterbacks have won the MVP in the history of the NFL, but there are literally dozens of examples of players who should be in consideration.

27. Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns

Amari Cooper is another player who has seen himself in rumors this offseason, but unlike others on the list, Cooper didn’t do anything to deserve it. We learned he was dangled by the Cleveland Browns in a possible Aiyuk trade. One can’t blame the Browns, as they thought they were getting equal production from a much younger player. However, when the deal blew up, Cooper was stuck in Cleveland wondering what’s next.

Cooper has been a consummate professional in Cleveland. It seems like forever ago when he was pushing the issue in Oakland. Now, he’s one of the most consistent receivers in the league. Just look at last season. The Browns started Deshaun Watson, P.J. Walker, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, Jeff Driskel, and Joe Flacco literally off the street.

Despite that laundry list of quarterbacks, Cooper had north of 1,200 yards. Think about that for a second. Cooper had 1,200 yards with five different quarterbacks, most of which weren’t very good.

So, if that didn’t get him in MVP voting, why would he be considered in 2024? Well, for one, how can we trust Watson to play a full season? Even if he does (which would be a miracle), nobody would likely want to vote for him as MVP, so it could give the votes to Cooper.
