1. Trent Brown, LT, New England Patriots

The Dallas Cowboys are in a bit of limbo at the offensive tackle positions, because Tyron Smith is an impending free agent. Educating guessing says the Cowboys will keep Smith around, as he is still a very good left tackle. However, Dallas should draft a new tackle to be his understudy or hedge their bets with a free agent signing, as that new player could potentially play on the right for Terence Steele.

When it comes to replacing Steele directly on the right, Dallas could go for an actual right tackle, saving themselves from needing to ask someone to adjust their technique to the opposite side of the line. The problem is that the options at right tackle simply aren't as good, and the Cowboys should want to go for the best possible option, especially with Smith's long-term future a little iffy

The New England Patriots have several talented tackles leaving for free agency, and it stands to reason at least one of them will be available. Since Trent Brown is the best and most expensive of them, it seems likely he will take a real payday in free agency, and signing him could be a real statement of intent from the Cowboys to back their own major investment in Dak Prescott at quarterback.

Brown is right there with Smith in terms of quality. There's a big of risk involved when signing Brown and how he fits the Cowboys offense, but it's a risk worth taking as long as the price is right. The Cowboys do need to prioritize tackle since it is their biggest offensive weakness on paper.
