Top 15 highest goalscorers in MLS history

MLS has had some high-profile strikers over the years. However, the biggest names have joined the league at the end of their careers. In order to be on this list you would have had to have spent the majority of your playing days in the division. Here are the top 15 highest goalscorers in MLS history.

13. Carlos Ruiz - 105 goals

Carlos Ruiz scored 105 goals in MLS whilst at the LA Galaxy, FC Dallas, Philadelphia Union, D.C United and Toronto FC.

The Guatemalan won MLS Cup with the Galaxy and the Supporters Shield with Dallas. Ruiz also played 133 times for his country, scoring 68 goals.

14. Edson Buddle - 103 goals

Edson Buddle had three stints with the LA Galaxy and also played for the Columbus Crew, Colorado Rapids, New York Red Bulls and Toronto FC.

Buddle would win MLS Cup with the Galaxy and would earn 11 caps for his country, scoring three goals.

15. Roy Lassiter - 101 goals

Roy Lassiter was the top goalscorer in MLS' first-ever season. He scored 27 goals for the Tampa Bay Mutiny which earned him a loan move to Genoa. However, he was not a success in Italy and would go on to continue in MLS with D.C United, Miami Fusion and the Kansas City Wizards (now Sporting Kansas City).

Lassiter won MLS Cup with D.C and played 34 times for the USMNT, where he scored four times.
