This time it is for certain. Atlanta Falcons tight end Tony Gonzalez has said that the 2013-14 NFL season will be his final campaign. Gonzalez passed along the news during an appearance on Pro Football Talk’s PFT Live.

The Falcons are loaded with talent and have all of the tools in place to make a Super Bowl, which would be the perfect ending to Gonzalez’s career. Just like the Baltimore Ravens used Ray Lewis’ final run as motivation last season, Atlanta could rally behind Gonzalez and make it their goal to “win one for Tony.”

When the curtain closes on the season, the next step for Gonzalez will be enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Gonzalez will be able to take his 13 Pro Bowl appearances, 2000 All-Decades Team honor and his numerous NFL records with him while he waltzes into Canton.
