The Minnesota Timberwolves are under new guidance with the arrival of Flip Saunders and that has mnay fans and analysts assuming that the team will be making compitent moves this offseason. With David Kahn gone, people are so excited about the Wolves future that the team is being linked to numerous rumors about who they will be targeting this free agency.

But ESPN1500 Wolves reporter Darren Wolfson is setting the record straight and says that while the Wolves have cap space to get a bigger than average name, they’ll be focusing their efforts on signing either J.J. Redick, O.J. Mayo or Kevin Martin this offseason.

Wolfson is referring to a rumor that the Wolves are talking to Chicago Bulls guard Marco Belinelli and while there may be interest the Wolves rightfully have their minds in better places.

J.J. Redick is a dark horse name to seriously consider as he’s affordable and he’s a guy that the Wolves can fit right into their system. They desperately need a shooting guard to run along side Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love in their starting lineup and while O.J. Mayo is a preferred option, he’s going to get a lot more offers than Redick will.
