According to AtlantaFalcons.com, first year Falcons running back Steven Jackson has been positioned all over the line of scrimmage in training camp practices.

Jackson has been lining out wide, in the slot and in his regular spot, which of course is in the backfield and he believes the offense is trying to get him one on one with linebackers as much as possible.

"“It reminds me of my younger years in St. Louis when I was used more as a receiver out of the backfield. It allows me to use more tools in the shed that I have and possess.” Jackson told AtlantaFalcons.com"

The running game for the Falcons is going to look different this season. With the departure of veteran running back Michael “Burner” Turner, a small speedy running back who was able to hide behind the offense line while receiving the exchange from Matt Ryan and having the ability to burst through any opening on either side or inside the offensive line.

Teams who play the Falcons will definitely see their work horse running straight towards them. Jackson has had an amazing career with the St. Louis Rams, being one of the best running backs to ever wear a Rams uniform right next to Marshall Faulk, Eric Dickerson, Lawrence McCutcheon and Dick Bass.

Now it’s time for Atlanta’s offense to benefit from the great numbers that Jackson is able to put up. This offense is going to be totally different from previous seasons with Turner.

Atlanta fans should be excited about this year.
