Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles was carted to the locker room during practice earlier today with an apparent leg injury. He was described as “gimpy” and was “walking around gingerly.”

The initial reports of Charles being ‘carted off’ were clarified by beat writer Jason Madson who says Charles was simply hoping a ride up the hill to the facility.

The good news for the Chiefs is that Charles’ X-rays have come back negative. Charles missed injured his ACL in 2011 so the news that it appears to be a minor injury is a relief.

Head coach Andy Reid is expected to make a statement after practice and could provide some clarity as to what exactly the injury is. For now it looks like something simple such as a rolled ankle.
