Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons had an impressive night, despite a preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens. For Matt Ryan, he was able to throw for ninety seven yards and a touchdown in just four series for the team, but the most impressive part of the Falcons’ game was on the defensive side of the ball. Atlanta’s defense held the starting Ravens offense to just three first downs for the whole first half.

The Falcons were definitely the powerhouse in the first half, controlling every aspect of the game. Their offense came up big with eleven first downs in under twenty minutes, and they went into halftime with a thirteen point lead, up 20-7. Steven Jackson also had a decent night, running for 42 yards against the Ravens defense.

The Baltimore Ravens, however, were able to score 20 unanswered points late in the game to get the victory. One of the bigger plays happened on the special teams, as Asa Jackson took a punt return seventy eight yards for a touchdown. And Joe Flacco, the reigning Super Bowl MVP, also showed us his arm, as he threw a 77 yard touchdown pass to Torrey Smith. Flacco finished the game with seven of nine completions for 118 yards and the long touchdown to Smith.
