Shortly after the Denver Broncos announced Ronnie Hillman as their starting running back, it’s been reported now that the Broncos will have a running back by committee system.

Ian Rapaport of NFL Network reports that the RBBC will be “on a drive-by-drive basis,” meaning that either Hillman, Montee Ball, or Knowshon Moreno will enter into the game for an entire drive.

With the Broncos’ hurry-up offense, it would surely be hell if they tried to rotate their backs during a drive.

Since Hillman was named the starter, he’s likely to be the first man up in Thursday’s season opener against the Baltimore Ravens. It’s anyone’s guess as to how many times he’ll be on the field, or how many touches he’ll get compared to Ball or Moreno.

That’s good news for fantasy players like yours truly who picked up Ball as their second running back.
