New England Patriot Aaron Dobson has left the Patriots football game after sustaining an injury to his neck. Any time a neck is involved it is always cause for concern. In Dobson’s case, he was able to walk off the field under his own power which was a very promising sign.

Dobson was hurt when a Tom Brady pass that was intended for him was thrown low and behind him. It appeared that Dobson was trying to change directions and as he dove for the ball, a Falcon defender was diving the opposite direction and wrenched his head back. Dobson immediately began writhing on the ground in pain.

He had returned to the field to try to loosen up to see if he was able to return to the game. He was unable to get loose and he left the field. At this point, he is being classified as questionable to return.

Dobson has one catch for 10 yards on the day. The Patriot receiving core is not deep. They can ill-afford to lose receivers at this point. If Dobson is unable to return, look for fellow rookie Kenbrell Thompkins to pick up the slack.
