Apparently, Tony Gonzalez has paid tribute to Will Ferrell’s Anchorman character Ron Burgundy for four straight seasons and I’ve never noticed. During the player intros where they state their name and school, the Atlanta Falcons tight end has done his own spin of the “I’m Ron Burgundy?” line on Sunday Night Football.

It is funny and subtle enough to make it past the Sunday Night Football crew.

Interesting side note, if you actually read the teleprompter in the Anchorman movie, he isn’t reading it. The teleprompter isn’t close to the lines he actually says in the movie.

Here is Tony Gonzalez’s version:

Big Lead

The Falcons lost to the New England Patriots last night dropping to 1-3 on the season. The Falcons led a late comeback but couldn’t even the score and force an overtime.

Gonzalez played well though. He had 12 catches for 149 yards and two touchdowns. One of those touchdowns was an 11 yard pass with just under four-and-a-half minutes left in the fourth quarter.
