With the Atlanta Falcons failing miserably to start the 2013 season, there was immediately some speculation that the team could trade away tight end Tony Gonzalez so he could finish off his career as a member of a contending team.

Immediately, the rumors were shot down, but people continued to speculate how Gonzalez could help the Kansas City Chiefs, Baltimore Ravens or New England Patriots among others.

While there is no substance to the rumors and they have repeatedly been shot down, Ian Rapoport took it upon himself on Twitter today to once again shut down the idea that Gonzalez will be moved by the NFL trade deadline.

It would be great to see a Tony Gonzalez – Kansas City Chiefs reunion, but no matter how much we would like to see that happen it is unlikely.

Instead, Gonzalez will finish off his career taking the field for a struggling team that is quickly falling behind in the NFC South.
