The Atlanta Falcons played without wide receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White against the Tampa Buccaneers last Sunday, but they were still able to snap their three-game losing streak with a 31-23 win and stay alive in the race for the postseason.

Quarterback Matt Ryan’s play was a big reason for that victory as he [played like his elite self without his top receivers. For that,, Ryan has been named the NFC’s offensive player of the week.

Ryan finished the game 20/26 for 273 yards and three touchdowns with a QB rating of 148.4 for the day. It was also Ryan’s first turnover-free outing since Week 2.

On the defensive side Dallas Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee won the Defensive Player of the Week. Lee’s 11 tackles and one interception keyed the Cowboys’ 17-3 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, which put Dallas atop the NFC East division, and they now look like the team to beat for it.
