Fantasy football: Sydney Rice out means more Golden Tate
By Jason Marcum
Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice left Monday night’s game against the St. Louis Rams in the second quarter after he was injured on a pass in the end zone that was deflected by cornerback Janoris Jenkins. Rice was able to get up, but he did so with a noticeable limp and was later tended to by the training staff before heading to the locker room.
It looks like he’ll miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL.
Coming into the game, Rice had 15 catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns this season. Replacing him will be Jermaine Kearse, a young wide receiver who has struggled to crack into the starting lineup given the Seahawks’ depth at the position.
He’s not someone you should look at in fantasy football except in deep dynasty leagues, as his future value is promising if he shines and Golden Tate leaves via free agency.
