Things are certainly heating up on the Jared Allen trade front. In addition to the Seattle Seahawks reportedly making a late hour push to acquire the services of the defensive end, we’re now being told that Allen wants out of Minnesota – this according to Tom Pelissero:

"If it wasn’t clear already, Jared wants out. And given where #Vikings stand and what they’d save, I imagine they want him out, too."

The Vikings of course are going no place this season, while other interested parties (like the Seahawks, for example) could be challenging for a Super Bowl appearance, so Allen’s desire to leave makes obvious sense.

For Minnesota, if they can get the second round pick they’re reportedly asking for, it’s a no brainer though that seems like a long shot considering earlier reports suggesting the Vikings likely wouldn’t get more than a fifth round compensatory pick if Allen departs in free agency.
