We’re getting closer to the end of the season and another exciting week of NFL action wrapped up. The Jacksonville Jaguars got their first win of the season against the Tennessee Titans. It wasn’t the only eye brow raising upset in the AFC South, the St. Louis Rams upset the Indianapolis Colts at home.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers also got their first win of the season on Monday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins. The New Orleans Saints and Rob Ryan dismantled the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football and got a bit of revenge on his former team. The Carolina Panthers went to California and beat the San Francisco 49ers.

There was an incredible Hail Mary play to tie the game for the Cincinnati Bengals, but it wasn’t enough and they lost to the Baltimore Ravens. Kicker Justin Tucker gave the Ravens the win with a field goal and celebrated with a Terio dance.

To honor all the outstanding individual performances this past weekend, we’ve passed out our own version of the weekly awards. We’ve selected these categories:

  • Rookie Defensive Player of the Week
  • Rookie Offensive Player of the Week
  • Special Teams Player of the Week
  • Defensive Player of the Week
  • Offensive Player of the Week

Joining myself in making picks for these awards is Chris Lacey. You can follow him on Twitter: @aecanada12.

There were a lot of worth players, but not everyone could win. Let’s start with Rookie Defensive Player of the Week.
